Flexible Porous Pavement is a porous pavement made with shredded passenger car tires and a urethane bonding agent (our heavy duty mix adds stone). Material is mixed on site, poured in place and finished with concrete floats.
You could say it's in our blood. James Ross, our project manager, is the fourth generation of the Ross family to install concrete. The original James Ross began installing sidewalks in Syracuse in 1928. His hard work and outstanding craftsmanship shine through today. We strive to bring the same attention to detail that has made the name James Ross synonymous with quality sidewalks.
WalkWay is a fine grain pervious concrete. Unlike unsightly standard porous concrete, Walkway uses a proprietary crushed rock mix design that offers a finish similar to a standard concrete sidewalk. Not only is it attractive, it is also easy to maintain and highly permeable.
This paver effectively forms, places and finishes the concrete. It has no motor so it does not burn gas, diesel or electricity. The concrete delivery truck tows the paver after the concrete has been unloaded into the hopper. It is fast and affordable and provides a far better finished product than traditionally formed pavements.
EPS owns and operates the only volumetric concrete mixer truck in Central New York which is why you may not be familiar with the term "volumetric mixer". The truck holds all the material needed to produce concrete in separate bins. When needed, the truck will mix and blend all the components and begin producing fresh concrete. The beauty of this is that it doesn't matter how far from a plant you are, your concrete will always be fresh.
